We are a semi-traditional music studio, offering in-depth study of Cello, Piano, and theory/compostition. We are traditional in the sense of developing students' performance skills, cultivating healthy and disciplined attitudes toward competition, and working toward deep musical understanding in many contexts. But we go beyond the standard tradition by incorporating philosophical guides to musical and personal development as well as approaching the art with a true interdisciplinary spirit. I am Suzuki violin and viola instructor with over 35 years of teaching experience. I also use Mark O'Connor's method as a supplement to provide a well rounded experience. My students perform 4 times yearly in the community including a Solofestival with judges who evaluate their performance and a Community Holiday Concert in December. Everything is done with consideration to the student's learning abilities and is presented in a gentle structured environment. Students are accepted starting at age 4 but I have worked with students as young as 3 with special circumstances. Parent are a valued, important part of the process and are present at lessons and work with their student at home. NO music experience necessary for parents -- part of my job is instructing the parent and making sure they feel comfortable working with their child at home.
