As an active member of the Eastside Chapter of Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Pamela always attends workshops, seminars and conferences to continue her own personal growth as a music teacher. Highly accomplished and innovative piano teacher with 30 years experience. Conservatory graduate. I teach all levels and all ages, with a specialty in adult beginners and adults returning to the piano after an absence. In addition to classical music I teach jazz & pop styles and improvisation. My approach to technique is based on solid understanding of the body (arms, hands, fingers) and not on dull repetition of mechanical exercises. I also emphasize ear training, playing by ear and harmonizing songs, learning about chords and about "how music works."
