I am a professional pianist. I work in all fields of my profession; I teach, I play, I give both solo and chamber music concerts, I provide professional accompaniment and I also work as a church pianist. I think it is important to have a teacher who is a good performer as well. I like to work in all aspects of my profession which helps me to grow as a musician.

I have 20 years of experience as a professional pianist and instructor. I hold Bachelors degrees from two Universities as well as Masters and post-masters (Artist Diploma) degrees. I have been teaching both private and group piano lessons for 20 years in US. I worked as Piano Department Head for number of years at an established music school (Metropolis School of Performing Arts in Arl Hts IL) and currently hold a position at Sherwood Community Music School at Columbia College as well as my own private studio; Elif Allenfort Piano Studio. I also work extensively as an actress chamber musician. I perform in concerts regularly. I am Suzuki violin and viola instructor with over 35 years of teaching experience. I also use Mark O'Connor's method as a supplement to provide a well rounded experience. My students perform 4 times yearly in the community including a Solofestival with judges who evaluate their performance and a Community Holiday Concert in December. Everything is done with consideration to the student's learning abilities and is presented in a gentle structured environment. Students are accepted starting at age 4 but I have worked with students as young as 3 with special circumstances. Parent are a valued, important part of the process and are present at lessons and work with their student at home. NO music experience necessary for parents -- part of my job is instructing the parent and making sure they feel comfortable working with their child at home.
