I am Suzuki violin and viola instructor with over 35 years of teaching experience. I also use Mark O'Connor's method as a supplement to provide a well rounded experience. My students perform 4 times yearly in the community including a Solofestival with judges who evaluate their performance and a Community Holiday Concert in December. Everything is done with consideration to the student's learning abilities and is presented in a gentle structured environment. Students are accepted starting at age 4 but I have worked with students as young as 3 with special circumstances. Parent are a valued, important part of the process and are present at lessons and work with their student at home. NO music experience necessary for parents -- part of my job is instructing the parent and making sure they feel comfortable working with their child at home.

Teaching students of all ages and all levels to gain a love of playing the piano is what I offer. I blend different styles ranging from classical to contemporary and use technology including JoyTunes, Guitar Band and other apps. In addition to recitals, my students participate in AIM, Northshore Northwestern Festival of Music and other contests. I have a degree from U of IL, and hold a professional certificate in piano from the National Music Teacher's Association. I am currently an officer on the Illinois State Music Teacher's board of directors. I teach Jazz/ Pop piano to students around the world over the phone and or Skype. I also teach " one-handed " students and blind students. I teach chords and get you playing songs in the very first lesson.
