I teach one-on-one piano and music composition lessons. My composition students enter contests, and my piano students perform in recitals as well as taking theory and piano exams.

I am a Suzuki-trained flute teacher, and have been teaching in Minneapolis since 2010. I welcome beginners ages 4-100 years old, intermediate students interested in college-level music studies, and amateurs at any level. I am happy to give lessons on piccolo as well. My teaching style combines Suzuki method influence with my own lesson structure, incorporating both learning music aurally and reading music. Ellie has 2 years towards her Masters Degree in K-12 Music. She taught music in public and private schools before switching to private teaching full-time. She has directed musicals, choirs, bands and arranged music for them.

Ellie's "go with the flow" style has given her success with ADD/ADHD students. She has also prepared advanced flute students for college tryouts, and some of these students have gone on to performing and teaching careers.
